This cut sided and paddled tea bowl has a lovely movement to it, the rim of the bowl rolls up and down creating a sense of fluid movement in the pot.
The decoration is created using a wire cutter to form the ledges and a paddle to create the diamond pattern, both applied fresh whilst the pot is still wet on the wheel, the clay is then expanded with one hand from the inside until the required form is achieved. A lovely quite tea bowl full of character.
My makers mark is stamped into the foot-ring
